A top AEW star confirmed that she has no "relationship" with Toni Storm. These two women feuded not too long ago.
When Mariah May first signed with All Elite Wrestling, she quickly aligned herself with Storm. She was by Storm's side for the majority of her title reign. However, things changed after May won the Owen Hart Cup earlier this year. Moments after winning the tournament, May turned on Storm and brutally assaulted her, leaving her mentor in a pool of her blood.
Mariah May then challenged her former mentor for the AEW Women's World Championship at All In 2024. After an excellent match, May picked up the win. Following this win, Storm was absent from AEW TV while Mariah continued to dominate the women's division.
During a recent interview on Niko Knows Best, Mariah May made it abundantly clear that she is not friends with Storm. She said she was a fan of the former Women's Champion and that's why she decided to learn from her and steal her life. She also said that she has no relationship with her former mentor.
"I've always been a Toni Storm fan, that's why I chose to follow her and to learn everything from her, and to steal her life. I always knew coming in I was going to use Toni Storm. I have no relationship with Toni Storm. Mina [Shirakawa], I love, we're still friends, I love Mina, I gave her a chance, she couldn't get the job done which I'm not surprised. But Toni is not my friend, she's never been my friend, and she never will be my friend." [H/T WrestlingInc.]
AEW star Mariah May claimed to have destroyed Toni Storm
While All In was the beginning of a new chapter for Mariah May, it also kickstarted the downfall of Toni Storm who was known as the face of the division for several months. It took Storm a lot longer to get over her protege's betrayal and she took a leave of absence from the company for several months.
During the same interview, Mariah May said that she is now the most dominant champion in All Elite Wrestling after she destroyed Storm.
"I am the most dominant champion in AEW, look at what I did to Toni Storm. Toni Storm was the face of our division, she would honestly be the face of the company if it wasn't for me, and what I did to her, I destroyed her." [H/T WrestlingInc.]
It will be interesting to see whether Toni Storm will attempt to regain her AEW Women's World Championship from Mariah May.
