AEW star declined a girl's kiss to watch Randy Orton's match against WWE legend: "Listen, not right now"

A top AEW star recalled how he refused to kiss a girl while watching one of Randy Orton's matches against WWE Hall of Famer Rey Mysterio. The match took place a few years ago.

The AEW star in question is the former NXT Champion Adam Cole. The Panama City Playboy made his AEW debut in 2021 and has since been one of the top stars in the company. Before getting into wrestling, Cole was a long-term fan of the sport as he recalled one of his biggest fan moments.

Adam Cole recalled his time during high school when he declined a kiss from a girl as he was watching the Randy Orton vs. Rey Mysterio match from WWE No Way Out 2006. Speaking on Q101 recently, Cole said:

"Sure sure, and actually, it never got to the kissing portion, it never even happened. What happened was I was in high school, like a freshman or sophomore in high school and my best friend was there, he had a girl that he really liked and they were dating at the time. The girl brought a friend who thought I was very cute."

Cole further added:

"We all were hanging out, two were smooching on the other couch. We had No Way Out, Rey Mysterio vs. Randy Orton — by the way, I was at this show. I was there. I had already seen the match, but I wanted to watch it on DVD and she was trying to kiss me and I said, ‘Hey, listen, not right now, I got to watch Rey Mysterio vs. Orton.’ I was dedicated my friend, dedicated.” [H/T Fightful]

Randy Orton has been absent from WWE TV

Randy Orton has been involved in a heated feud with Kevin Owens. On an episode of SmackDown a few weeks ago, Owens shockingly dropped Orton with a Piledriver, a move that has been banned in WWE for years. Randy had to be stretchered out of the arena and Cody Rhodes also joined him.

Meanwhile, Cody is currently seeking retribution from Kevin Owens after what Owens did to his friend and mentor. The American Nightmare is set to defend his Undisputed WWE Title against Owens at the Saturday Night's Main Event next month. Only time will tell if Orton will make his return at the event.
