Kenny Omega has ruled out a massive return, stating that it is just not feasible. This will no doubt disappoint a major chunk of his fanbase.

The former AEW World Champion, who is also an executive vice president of the company, was referring to the show Being The Elite, also known simply as BTE. The popular YouTube series was started by The Young Bucks in 2016 and documented the real-life and storyline journeys of The Elite. Cody Rhodes was also a big part of the show.

Kenny Omega was speaking to Fightful when he said that the time and quality demand just did not match the show. He said:

“The time and quality demands just didn’t match the time we had to give to the series anymore. By the end, BTE kind of became its own thing. There were moments when it felt more like a Dark Order show, and there were times when it featured wrestlers who didn’t have spots on TV, giving them something to do for the week. I was more than thrilled for it to be a platform for those individuals. That said, I totally respect the reason why it had to end. I don’t know—maybe one day it could come back, but for now, it’s just not feasible.” [H/T Ringside News]

Kenny Omega says BTE was too much work

In the same interview, Kenny Omega also shed light on how Being The Elite was a gigantic commitment for everyone involved.

He pointed out how the logistics that were involved just did not make sense and how it was a huge commitment for one person to shoulder.

“For BTE, it was a gigantic commitment for everyone involved. I really do think that as BTE grew and our cast expanded, along with the quality of the episodes, it became too much work for just one person to shoulder. I feel like if it were ever to come back, it would probably need an actual crew. We’d need a dedicated cameraman, people to edit the footage, and, at this point, someone to handle post-production effects and things like that because things evolve and change,” he said.

The Young Bucks said earlier that BTE would never make a comeback. It will be interesting to see what will happen down the line.
