The new year did not start most pleasantly for a popular AEW tag team. Tensions between the duo became evident on the first Dynamite of 2025.
During AEW Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen, The Acclaimed's Max Caster and Anthony Bowens were scheduled to compete against the Hurt Syndicate members Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin. Despite some issues that had been witnessed between the duo for a while, they went into battle mode as a united team.
The action between both teams was back-and-forth, as The Hurt Syndicate manager MVP observed it from the commentary desk. Caster and Bowens brought the fight to the force of Lashley and Benjamin. However, an unexpected twist happened in the final moments of the bout.
The All Mighty displayed his dominance inside the ring over Max Caster. As he put the latter in his submission hold, the Hurt Lock, Anthony Bowens stood outside the ring, hesitating to help his partner. In the end, Caster was left unconscious in the ring, and, much to everyone's shock, Bowens simply walked off the scene, leaving his teammate behind.
With the growing tensions between Max Caster and Anthony Bowens, it seems that AEW fans could see the end of one of the most popular tag teams soon. Moreover, it would be interesting to hear what Caster says about Bowens' actions on Dynamite: Fight for the Fallen.
