AEW star makes blockbuster comeback with WWE gimmick

On the latest episode of Dynamite, a former AEW Women's World Champion returned with her old character. The star being discussed is Toni Storm, who was absent from the Jacksonville-based promotion for more than three months.

In 2023, the 29-year-old star introduced her 'Timeless' gimmick, which became a major hit. Before that, she bought her old WWE gimmick, in which she wore red and black gear. The Timeless star took Mariah May as her prodigy, but the latter turned on her on the July 10 episode of Dynamite. The two faced each other at All In pay-per-view, where The Glamour defeated Toni Storm for the AEW Women's World Championship.

Toni Storm wasn't seen in the Jacksonville-based promotion since her loss at Wembley Stadium, while Mariah May has been defending the AEW Women's World Championship against potential contenders. The latter was slated to face her long-time friend Mina Shirakawa at tonight's Dynamite: Winter is Coming. After an entertaining contest, the champion retained her title.

Seconds after winning the match, Toni Storm made her blockbuster return, where she came back in her old gimmick. The crowd went into a frenzy after seeing the absent star.

It will be interesting to see when the old rivals will face each other.
