TBS Champion Mercedes Moné was recently asked whether she would go back to WWE after he current stint with AEW. Her reply, though couched in diplomatic terms, was a no.
Moné’s run with the Stamford-based promotion lasted almost a decade, and she was credited as one of the stars to headline the women’s evolution of the promotion. She also ended up becoming one of the first women to become a Grand Slam Champion. Earlier this year, she signed with AEW, and in her debut match, she captured the TBS Championship, besting Willow Nightingale.
During a brief interview posted by TMZ, Mercedes Moné was asked if there was a chance she could go for another run in WWE should her time with AEW come to an end. She responded with a smile, saying she had everything at this point and was happy with where she currently was in her career.
“I have everything I love right now, I'm happy!” said Moné.
Mercedes Moné recently addressed the possibility of her reuniting with a WWE Superstar in AEW
With it just being three and a half months since she officially joined the company, Mercedes Moné has quickly risen to the ranks as one of its top stars.
Recently, during her interview with Maggie & Perloff, The CEO talked about some names who will be hitting free agency this year. They briefly spoke about Becky Lynch, but Moné expressed how she was interested in another star, someone she had worked with in the past in WWE.
She did not disclose the name, as she felt that by namedropping her, this was like letting the competition know that they were interested in getting her. She told the fans to just begin speculating on this. Many have suggested this could be about Natalya.
"I have heard little rumors of a certain girl that I really, really love. I don’t want to name names because if I say their name, then you know the other competition might just want to get them that much quicker. So, if we have a chance to get her, I would absolutely love her and her husband to be here. But that’s just that… Just go on X, Twitter, or Instagram. I’m sure the fans will figure it out."
