Mercedes Mone has found plenty of success since joining AEW, but The CEO is never content to rest on her laurels. She now seems to be eyeing another title: Athena's ROH Women's World Championship.
Athena has held the ROH Women's title for two years and is the longest-reigning champion in the title's history. She's also managed to become the de facto face of Ring of Honor during her reign, but her time on top may be coming to an end.
Athena is set to battle her longtime partner and rival, Billie Starkz, at the ROH Final Battle this Friday. The champion successfully defended her title against Starkz one year ago, but many fans think this could be a changing of the guard.
Mercedes Mone already holds the TBS and NJPW Strong Women's Championships but is seemingly on the hunt for more gold. The CEO noticed that Athena had reached the two-year mark as ROH Women's World Champion and posted an emoji on her official X/Twitter account, indicating that she could be eyeing the title. Mercedes Mone could also challenge for the AEW Women's World Championship soon
The ROH Women's World Championship isn't the only title Mercedes Mone seems to be eyeing. She recently indicated that she was setting her sights on the top of AEW's women's division, which Mariah May didn't seem to appreciate.
Mone recently praised AEW Women's World Champion Mariah May but also noted that she was looking at the title around Mariah's waist. The champ wasted no time in telling the former WWE Superstar to look elsewhere:
"Mercedes, keep looking," wrote Mariah May on X/Twitter.
The last thing Mariah May needs right now is a star like Mone coming after her. The AEW Women's World Champion has plenty on her plate already, with Thunder Rosa challenging her to a Tijuana Street Fight at Worlds End and Toni Storm recently making her return to television.
