A current AEW star recently shared his thoughts on fans wanting to see him back in WWE with his old character. The veteran has not been part of the Stamford-based promotion for over six years now.
The AEW star in question, Dustin Rhodes (fka Goldust), is still missed in WWE by many fans. He has been working in the Tony Khan-led promotion since 2019. Dustin officially departed from the global juggernaut in April 2019. He is the current ROH World Tag Team and World Six-Man Tag Team Champion.
Although Dustin has been performing at his highest level in All Elite Wrestling, a section of fans wants to see him back in the Stamford-based promotion in his iconic character, Goldust. An X/Twitter user recently brought up certain viewers who were asking The Natural to return to WWE as Goldust or to help Cody Rhodes.
Dustin Rhodes noticed the abovementioned tweet and wrote that he was happy to be in All Elite Wrestling. But he also acknowledged the point of view of fans wanting to see him as Goldust.
"I think they do value my work and are happy that i am right where I choose to be. #AEW BUT, on the flip side, I see their point of view. I am doing my best work ever."
The AEW veteran retained his title at a recent big event
Dustin Rhodes recently competed at a big Tokyo Dome event. At Wrestle Dynasty on January 5, 2025, The Natural and his tag team partner, Sammy Guevara, successfully defended their Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championship against the House of Torture of New Japan Pro-Wrestling.
Dustin Rhodes is showing no signs of slowing down despite being part of the business for decades. Fans will have to wait to see whether he ever returns to WWE.
