AEW commentator Jim Ross is widely regarded as one of the most respected pro wrestling personalities. Ross recently announced a concerning health update and has received words of encouragement from around the wrestling world. A rising All Elite star has just reached out with a special message for the wrestling legend.

JD Drake recently wrestled his 100th match for Tony Khan's promotions. The 40-year-old has been with AEW since February 2021 and has worked with ROH since April 2023. One-half of The WorkHorsemen with Anthony Henry, Drake works in the style of an old-school brawler, the kind of pro wrestler Good Ol' JR has admired. The former Voice of WWE announced this week that he was heading back to the Emergency Room due to breathing troubles.

The ChopFather took to X today to send well wishes to Ross, who also works as a Senior Advisor for the company. Drake said he was praying for JR, then joked about how stubborn the 72-year-old is:

"Praying for you JR! Keep kicking out bud. You're too hard headed to lose," JD Drake wrote.

Ross noted in his aforementioned announcement that he may need to stay overnight at the hospital. He has been active on X since the ER tweet on Tuesday afternoon, but it remains to be seen if he is hospitalized.

Jim Ross to return at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door?

Jim Ross has been working in the pro wrestling industry since 1974. The WWE Hall of Famer has held many hats over the years and is viewed by many as the greatest wrestling commentator of all time.

Good Ol' JR joined AEW in April 2019, just days after passing on a WWE contract renewal. He signed a one-year extension this past March, noting that this could be his last year in broadcasting. The 72-year-old actually made very curious remarks on potentially returning to WWE earlier this month.

Ross has been working a limited schedule, only calling pay-per-view events. He worked Dynasty in April but missed Double Or Nothing in May due to a minor health issue. Ross was expected to return at Forbidden Door this weekend.
