Former WWE Chairman Vince McMahon can be considered one of the biggest pioneers of professional wrestling, as he is the founder of the biggest wrestling company in the world. One AEW star believes recent events shouldn't discount his impact on the business.

Bobby Lashley is one of the big names in the industry who has competed for Mr. McMahon and other major promotions. During his debut year in WWE, he even had an on-screen feud with the former WWE Chairman.

While appearing on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, The All Mighty talked about how despite the recent issues surrounding Vince McMahon, this should not downplay his impact in the industry and had helped thousands of people get on their feet.

"You have to have people give you that pull up. That's what I try to do with people right now. At the same time, I always think of the people that gave me the opportunity. Yeah, Vince is going through a whole bunch right now. We understand that, but Vince McMahon has personally fed thousands of thousands of people and people don't understand that. When you have a business like he created, there are so many people right now that, the amount of mouths that he fed and kids that he put through college and houses that he's buying."

He continued by saying that people did not understand this side of Vince and clung to the negatives. Lashley talked about how people have gotten opportunities because of WWE.

"There is so much and people don't understand that. Yes, there are a lot of bad things going on right now, but because of that business, we have so many people who are able to do things that they probably never had an opportunity to do," said Lashley. [H/T = Fightful]

The former WWE Champion talked about working with Tony Khan in AEW

During the same interview, Bobby Lashley talked about working with AEW President Tony Khan.

He mentioned how in an industry that was chaotic and hard to thrive in, he felt that Khan went out of his way to make sure that everyone on the roster was doing okay. Bobby Lashley mentioned how this wasn't easy, as not everyone would have their chance to shine on the roster. He then revealed that it has all been smooth sailing since working with him.

“In the wrestling business, it is hard because the wrestling business can eat you up if you don't put your foot down, and I think that is the only thing that I can say with Tony is that he goes out of his way to make sure everybody is happy and everybody is taken care of and I think that is hard to do in a wrestling business because you can't have everybody be the champ. You can't have everybody look great, win every match, and have all the TV time. You’ve got to be able to, like, massage in and put it where it needs to be but ever since working with him, everybody is really cool,” he said. [1:18:47 - 1:19:27]

Lashley has now seemingly gotten the best of all worlds in the industry. After numerous stints in both WWE and TNA, he now looks set for a dominant run in AEW, along with the rest of his comrades in The Hurt Syndicate.
