An AEW star recently talked about his relationship with Vince McMahon during his time in WWE. The star being discussed is Shelton Benjamin.
The 49-year-old star is a part of The Hurt Syndicate in AEW. He debuted on the October 2 edition of Dynamite and was undefeated until last Wednesday. He lost Swerve Strickland on Fright Night Dynamite.
Shelton Benjamin worked in WWE for many years. He had two runs in the promotion, first from 2000 to 2010 and the second from 2017 to 2023. Despite being extremely talented, he was never given an opportunity to shine for almost a decade under Vince McMahon's regime.
While speaking on Gabby AF, The Standard of Excellence opened up about his relationship with the former Chairman of WWE. Shelton claimed that Vince didn't have faith in him. He revealed that Vince McMahon's meetings with him were professional, but sometimes Benjamin had to wait for the latter.

"My biggest issue with Vince was that he didn't have enough faith in me. He has to have faith in you to put you in certain positions. That is my only real personal gripe with him. Aside from that, I don't have a lot of negative things to say about my interactions with him. If I asked him for a meeting, I always got that meeting. Sometimes, I may have had to wait," he said. Shelton Benjamin reveals which AEW stars he would like to face
The Hurt Syndicate member recently became All Elite and already caught many eyes with his significant performances. So far, he has faced Sammy Guevara, Lio Rush, and Swerve Strickland.
While speaking with Busted Open Radio, Shelton Benjamin named Will Ospreay, Jon Moxley, MJF, and Powerhouse Hobbs as some of the stars he would like to face.
"My first thought, because I think the guy is phenomenal, is Will Ospreay. I would love to work with Moxley (...) I don't even know we've shared a locker room until now. Swerve is someone I wanted to wrestle, MJF (...) [Powerhouse] Hobbs," he said.
It remains to be seen what is next for The Hurt Syndicate as Bobby Lashley made his debut last week in AEW.
