A popular AEW star has just made his in-ring return on Dynamite after 505 days facing off against a former WWE Superstar in a first-time-ever singles match. This would be Adam Cole facing Buddy Matthews.

Cole returned to AEW at WrestleDream earlier this month, confronting MJF. Last week, Buddy challenged him to a singles match because he wanted to have the honor of welcoming him back to professional wrestling. He also called Cole "fragile" and wanted him to prove him wrong in the ring.
Adam Cole has been someone known to be full of confidence, but during tonight's match, he started second-guessing all of his moves. With his last match being more than a year ago at All Out 2023, the ring rust may be evident a bit.

Eventually, The Panama City Playboy found his footing and was able to retaliate against Buddy Matthews. Once he picked up momentum, he did not give in and was able to take the victory tonight.
Last week, MJF gave Cole and Roderick Strong a challenge, and this was a race between the two of them to gather three singles wins. The prize of this was a match against him at AEW Full Gear. Cole has the advantage now and is two wins away from having the chance to get his hands on his bitter rival.

Enzo Curabo
Enzo is a Pro Wrestling journalist at Sportskeeda, reporting on AEW. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Multimedia Studies, which influenced his decision of taking up sports writing professionally, and has been an avid fan of the athletic theater since childhood. He believes readers deserve authentic and unique content and aims to report in a manner which pro wrestling fans can easily relate to.
Growing up, Enzo admired former world champions like AJ Styles, Will Ospreay, Bryan Danielson, Triple H, and Randy Orton for their finishing moves. As an adult, he started to appreciate their character work, as they juggled between heel and babyface gimmicks.
If allowed to produce one final storyline involving his idols, he would have Orton lock horns with John Cena, would be their one last big feud as both of them seem to be approaching the tail end of their careers.
Other than pro wrestling, Enzo enjoys keeping up with Basketball, Football, and Formula One. He also loves watching films, playing video games, and listening to music.
