Bobby Lashley is training hard for his upcoming match against former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland, and he's not doing it alone. The 48-year-old was recently spotted putting some work in with his faction leader, MVP.

The Hurt Syndicate is currently riding high in AEW, but both Bobby Lashley and MVP will be tested soon. The All Mighty has a furious Swerve Strickland to deal with at Full Gear on November 23. The next day, MVP will make his long-awaited return to the ring at Josh Barnett's Bloodsport XII.

The former WWE Superstar is facing Barnett himself, which would be an intimidating prospect for anyone. MVP hasn't stepped into the ring since July 2022, so it's only natural that he would get some reps in with the powerhouse that is Bobby Lashley.

MVP hyped up the match and shared a video of his training session with Lashley on Instagram.

AEW's MVP expresses admiration for Josh Barnett ahead of major match

Josh Barnett's Bloodsport events have become hallowed in the independent wrestling community. The special events have been headlined by major stars in the past, including Jon Moxley, Minoru Suzuki, and Shayna Baszler.

The upcoming Bloodsport XII show will feature wrestling stars from WWE, TNA, and AEW, as well as several prominent names from the indie scene. MVP took to X (fka Twitter) ahead of his match against Josh Barnett to let fans know how much it meant to him.

"I have always been a fan of Japanese wrestling & traditional submission grappling! Some of my 1st lessons in submission grappling came from the LEGEND, Josh Barnett. 11 years later, I'm a Brazilian jiu-jitsu blackbelt. Multi-time grappling champion. Time to test myself," he said.

There's been no news on the veteran potentially stepping into the ring for All Elite Wrestling, but he's been highly effective as the leader of The Hurt Syndicate thus far. Whether MVP returns to full-time competition remains to be seen.
