AEW fans and talents continue to rally around a veteran star after significant health issues. After undergoing a scheduled surgery, everything seemed to be going well, but unexpected circumstances led to the fan-favorite being sent back to the hospital. Now new details are being revealed on just how serious things have gotten.
Maria Kanellis underwent surgery on Friday to remove a rare adrenal gland mass discovered months ago. Mild symptoms forced her to stay overnight at the hospital, but then she left home on Sunday evening to return to the hospital with increased pain in her head, neck, and spine. After a stay in the Emergency Room on Sunday, the AEW-ROH star was re-admitted to the hospital on Monday due to pain, as she was unable to walk and stand.
The First Lady Of Professional Wrestling was still at the hospital as of this morning. She took to X to share an update with fans, noting that she is still swollen and bruised, but a cocktail of medications seems to be helping. The 42-year-old mother-of-two included three hospital room photos:
"We are about 6 days out from my surgery. I’m still at the hospital after my brief time home. Still very swollen and bruised. They have me on a new medication schedule that seems to be helping. It includes nerve pain medication, caffeine, a muscle relaxer, allergy meds, and nausea medication. This morning I had an MRI with contrast on my head and neck. Just sitting here feeling grateful to everyone trying to figure this out!! BUT, I can’t wait to go home though to my children," Maria Kanellis wrote with the photos below.
