WWE legend John Cena has been a polarizing figure in pro wrestling for nearly two decades. Now, another star has received the same treatment as the 16-time world champion.

Despite being a babyface, Cena was heavily booed by the crowd on many occasions. After having an exceptional career and multiple title wins, he will retire in 2025. During his early years, he had a once-in-a-lifetime experience during an infamous bout. Ricochet also seems to be garnering immense heat from the crowd.

On ECW's One Night Stand pay-per-view, the Cenation Leader faced Rob Van Dam in the Hammerstein Ballroom. The crowd heavily sided with RVD and John Cena was heavily booed throughout the contest. During the contest, a fan held a now-iconic sign which said 'If Cena wins, we riot'.

AEW's Ricochet had a very similar situation during the recent Hammerstein Ballroom show. A few weeks ago, he started making a bothersome 'Aha' sound which annoyed many viewers, who were critical of it on social media. A fan in Hammerstein Ballroom held a sign saying "If Ricochet a-ha’s we riot" during his match.

A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.

Chris Van Vliet explains how WWE should book John Cena vs Cody Rhodes

The American Nightmare is one of the biggest stars of 2024 and WWE should continue booking him strongly.

While speaking on INSIGHT with Chris Van Vliet, Chris stated that the Cenation Leader should pass the torch to Cody Rhodes during his retirement tour.

"John Cena was the biggest babyface in the company for a long long time. Cody Rhodes is now the biggest babyface in the company. So it feels like there could be a real passing of the torch moment here that involves a match. But it just feels to me, like, if they had a program, even if it's a short program leading up to a match, that could really cement what Cody Rhodes is doing in this current that we have," he said.

It will be interesting to see how WWE books Cena during his retirement tour.
