A former AEW champion recently revealed he will be displaying a more intense character. The star being discussed is Powerhouse Hobbs.
The former TNT Champion is a former member of the Don Callis Family. He was a force to be reckoned with during his 2023 run. However, a knee injury stalled his amazing run. The injury was sustained during his match against Jon Moxley, where he challenged the latter for the IWGP World Heavyweight Championship back in April 2024.
The 33-year-old star made a huge return to the Jacksonville-based promotion a couple of weeks ago on Dynamite. He was revealed as Ricochet's mystery partner against Don Callis Family's Kyle Fletcher and Konosuke Takeshita. The duo picked up a massive victory to close out AEW Dynamite.
While speaking with Uproxx, the former TNT Champion revealed he would be adding different elements to his character and would demonstrate even more destructiveness going forward.
“I’m going to start bringing my life into my character, the things that I hate, the things that I love. I’m just gonna show everyone how much more intense I can be, how destructive I can be, how I don’t give a s**t at times who’s in my way. In the end, this business, there only can be one," he said. Powerhouse Hobbs reveals his motive ahead of his AEW return
Powerhouse Hobbs was absent from AEW for more than six months. He recently disclosed his daily schedule during recovery.
While speaking with Uproxx, the 33-year-old star revealed his main motive was to improve and be better than the last time he was in the squared circle.
"I probably had a few days to be in my feelings and soak everything in. But my main objective was to come back better than when I left. This recovery, I would get up at five, eat, in the gym by six, on one leg for two hours, come home, eat, then off to PT for three hours a day, Monday through Saturday," he said.
It will be interesting to see what is next for the powerhouse star in the Jacksonville-based promotion.
