WWE is gearing up for the big RAW debut on Netflix next year. The groundbreaking partnership will open up new doors for both companies and now one Hall of Famer, who is currently with AEW, has fueled speculation on what could be one of the biggest decisions in promotion history.

World Wrestling Entertainment and Netflix recently inked a 10-year deal, said to be huge for the Stamford-based company with a value of $500 million per year. The streaming giant will begin airing RAW in January 2025, and additional content will also end up airing on the streaming platform. There's been a lot of speculation on what sort of WWE programming might air on Netflix, and former WCW World Heavyweight Champion Jeff Jarrett thinks a revival of World Championship Wrestling could be done.

Jarrett discussed the Netflix deal on his My World podcast. AEW's Director of Business Development pointed to merchandise sales for the nWo and WCW but speculated that WWE could pull the revival off with a focused effort.

"It could be done, but the reality is that we are 23 years removed from the brand being on television. The nWo still sells a boatload of merchandise, but WCW hasn't sold, to my knowledge, much of anything. A couple of retro shirts here and there or something to that effect. I just don't see a tremendous value there. But with that being said, you own the IP, you own the library, and you have the ability to have multiple connective tissue... so could it work with a focused effort? I think you could hit it out of the park," Jeff Jarrett said. [H/T to WrestlingInc]

The Netflix era is expected to bring significant changes to the overall product. There is internal optimism for the deal after recent censorship issues on RAW and SmackDown.

Former AEW & WWE star reacts to Netflix deal

World Wrestling Entertainment signing its blockbuster deal with Netflix was widely viewed as one of the biggest wrestling stories in years. Many pro wrestlers and personalities weighed in on the partnership.

Matt Hardy has been wrestling since 1992, finding success with WWE, AEW, TNA, and ROH, among other promotions. Before he left All Elite Wrestling earlier this year, Hardy spoke on his Extreme Life podcast and disclosed his initial reactions not long after Netflix's announcement.

"It was big, it was shocking. Once I heard that and I started hearing the details and I educated myself on what was going on, that’s massive. That’s a massive deal. Just the fact that they have this massive platform from Netflix. Literally, you can put out your own WWE branded content, pretty much without limit," Matt Hardy said. [H/T to Fightful]

Big Money Matt talked more about what the Netflix deal could mean for the future of pro wrestling. He also speculated on potential streaming projects for stars like The Undertaker, and how Vince McMahon might feel about the deal.
