An AEW star recently made his huge return to DDT Pro Wrestling after a long hiatus. The star in question is none other than Kota Ibushi who returned to the Japanese promotion after seven years.
The Golden Star has been out of action since January after suffering major injuries in a match with Naomichi Marufuji at the Pro Wrestling NOAH show. On Sunday morning Kota Ibushi made his shocking return to DDT Pro Wrestling. The veteran wrestled in a match against Sanshiro Takagi.
On X (formerly Twitter), WrestleTalk's account posted the clip from Ibushi's return to DDT Pro Wrestling.
"Kota Ibushi made his return to DDT after 7 years! Great to see the Golden Star healthy!"

Why was AEW star Kota Ibushi out of action?
In January at NOAH The New Year 2024 event, Kota Ibushi competed in a match against Naomichi Marufuji. During the bout, the AEW star unfortunately suffered a right tibiofibular ligament tear and a right ankle lateral ligament complex injury. He was immediately hospitalized following the match.
Kota Ibushi provided an update to the fans on January 17th where he revealed that he will be getting surgery on his shoulder as well.
"Apologies for the delayed update. It seems that my ligament was completely torn (and another area was already quite weak). My leg has been fully immobilized in a cast up to my knee. Now, I need to decide what to do about my left side, while my right side requires treatments every two weeks. My shoulder isn’t in perfect condition either, so I plan to use this time to fully fix everything. I’m sorry for any inconvenience caused. Moving forward, I have a lot to think about and decisions to make."
With Kota Ibushi now back in action, it will be interesting to see if the veteran plays a part at AEW Blood & Guts or possibly confronts the newly formed Elite in recent months.
