The WWE Universe was treated to another dream feud in 2022 as AJ Styles went to war with Edge, aka Adam Copeland. Despite their marquee matches, Styles has just revealed the one surprising change he would have made to the storyline.

The Rated-R Superstar left WWE in 2023, but one of his last major programs was with The Phenomenal One. In early 2022, Edge turned heel for the first time since 2010 after Styles accepted his open challenge for WrestleMania 38. Edge won their 28-minute match at 'Mania, thanks to Damian Priest.

Edge formed The Judgment Day the following week and then defeated Styles at Backlash. Priest was banned from ringside, but a masked Rhea Ripley interfered. This led to The Judgment Day ending the feud with a win over Styles, Finn Balor, and Liv Morgan at Hell In a Cell.

Speaking to Inside The Ropes, Styles was asked if he was happy with the Edge rivalry, which was a dream feud for some fans. The 47-year-old acknowledged that this was a dream feud, but he believes it should have been done differently with The Ultimate Opportunist as the babyface.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

"It was a dream feud, but in the wrong context of which it should've been done. Edge should have never been a heel. He wasn't a guy that you looked at as a bad guy, so... that would be the only thing that I would change. Other than that, we had fun, but it was just a different dynamic," AJ Styles said. After Hell In a Cell, Styles moved on to new feuds while Edge was kicked out of The Judgment Day by the new leader, Balor. Styles and The Master Manipulator locked up in a WWE ring one more time on May 12, 2023. AJ defeated Edge and Rey Mysterio in a SmackDown Triple Threat that night to eventually qualify for a shot at the new WWE World Heavyweight Championship, won by Seth Rollins two weeks later.

WWE legend jokes about injury from AEW Double or Nothing

Adam Copeland is currently on the inactive list after suffering a leg injury during his Barbed Wire Steel Cage match against Malakai Black at AEW Double or Nothing. The former Edge of WWE won the match but had to relinquish the TNT Championship due to the injury.

Copeland's first AEW feud was with his longtime partner and rival, Christian Cage. Speaking to Sports Illustrated, the 50-year-old recently discussed the injury and managed to jokingly blame it on his childhood friend, William Jason "Jay" Reso, aka Christian.

"Maybe this is all somehow Jay’s fault. Always remember I took Jay’s championship to new heights," Adam Copeland joked.

The latest word on Copeland's status is that he could be out of action for 4-6 months. He has indicated regret over the Steel Cage spot that caused the injury.
