Wrestling fans believe WWE Bad Blood recreated a moment of MJF in AEW with CM Punk. The Best in the World emerged victorious in a Hell in a Cell match against Drew McIntyre in Atlanta.
WWE presented the Bad Blood Premium Live Event from the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The show opened with one of the most brutal matches seen in recent times between McIntyre and Punk inside the Hell in a Cell. Both men lost a lot of blood during the match and despite CM Punk picking up the victory, he needed immediate medical attention following the bout.
After the match, doctors put an emergency oxygen mask on the former world champion which led to many fans claiming that the company copied the moment from AEW when MJF won the International Title and had to use an oxygen mask after his victory.
"CM Punk whilst breathing through an oxygen mask: 'Let me call my wife.'"
Charlotte Flair to return and wrestle a CURRENT CHAMPION?
The fans reacted to the post and called out the company for seemingly copying MJF and AEW's segment.
The fans kept accusing WWE of copying MJF's AEW Dynamite 250th episode's International Championship victory segment.
"Wonder where they got THIS idea from," a fan tweeted.
"Come on, can't Phil CM Punk be original for once? MJF already did this act in 2024," another fan stated.
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre's heat is legit claims WWE veteran Dutch Mantell
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre have been at each other's throats since last November when Punk made his historic return to the Stamford-based promotion. At Royal Rumble 2024, CM Punk made his in-ring return, however, he suffered a torn tricep in the match after taking a Future-Shock DDT from Drew McIntyre.
The hatred between the two kept escalating as CM Punk screwed over Drew McIntyre's chances to claim the World Heavyweight Championship three times. In a recent edition of Sportskeeda's SmackTalk podcast, Dutch Mantell claimed that there is some legit heat between McIntyre and Punk.
"I think there is some legit heat there, down below the surface. But hey, they gotta make a living. They gotta make... But that's even good for business when the fans can say, 'You know, really down deep, they f****ng hate each other.'" [5:06 onwards]
The feud between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk culminated last night inside Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood 2024. After a bloody encounter, Drew McIntyre's obsession with playing on Punk's emotions got the better of him. McIntyre again tried to utilize Punk with the fan-made bracelets. However, The Best in the World capitalized on the opportunity by hitting a brutal GTS to finish the rivalry.
It will be interesting to see what's next for CM Punk in WWE.
