Anna Jay could have the biggest night of her career on AEW Collision. Ahead of her title match against Mariah May, the 26-year-old sent out a message to let everyone know she was ready.
Anna Jay managed to defeat the Women's World Champion in a title eliminator match at AEW Battle of the Belts XII last month. However, she lost her official championship match on the November 2 episode of Collision.
Tonight, the former Dark Order member will once again challenge Mariah May for the AEW Women's World Championship, but there are a couple of major stipulations this time. For one, it's a No-Disqualification match, so anything could happen. Additionally, Anna has declared that if she loses, she will never again challenge Mariah for the title.
The 26-year-old took to X/Twitter today to hype herself up and let her fans know that she's ready for the challenge:
New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE
"Tonight. Let’s do this. 💥," she wrote.
Anna Jay turns down help ahead of AEW Women's World Championship match
Tonight's match has a No DQ stipulation, which could easily give an advantage to whichever woman has friends to back them up. However, both Anna Jay and Mariah May are currently short on allies.
May betrayed her idol, Toni Storm, ahead of All In 2024, and while her longtime partner, Mina Shirakawa, recently returned to AEW, she has her hands full, as she is set to take on Harley Cameron. Jay, on the other hand, is no longer part of the Dark Order or the Jericho Appreciation Society.
Taya Valkyrie approached the 26-year-old this week with an offer in case Shirakawa shows up to help the champion. However, Anna turned her down:
Jay was tapped by Brodie Lee as the future of AEW's women's division back in 2020, but the last couple of years have been rough for her. She's looking to make her mark on Collision tonight, but whether the young star can finally win a title remains to be seen.
