Former AEW World Champion Kenny Omega has been absent from in-ring duties since December 2023. The Cleaner was diagnosed with a life-threatening condition called diverticulitis. He even went under the knife to treat his illness.
In May 2024, The Best Bout Machine made an appearance on Dynamite and promised his fans that he would return to wrestling no matter how long it took him to recover. The veteran recently dropped a major tease about his comeback on X (Twitter), leaving the wrestling universe excited.
The Cleaner recently went to Japan amid his hiatus. A fan on X wished him a happy trip. In response, Kenny Omega clarified that he didn't visit Japan for a holiday trip but to buy some clothes for work.
"Don't worry! I was happy that Japanese fans remembered me. It wasn't really a trip; I just needed to buy some clothes for work," he wrote. [Translated via X]
Omega's wrestling gearmaker lives in Japan. Therefore, fans have pointed out that he went to the Asian country to collect his attire ahead of his potential in-ring return in All Elite Wrestling. A fan wrote that The Cleaner could return on the fifth-anniversary special episode of Dynamite on October 8.
"Just rewatched him vs. MJF recently. I'm so ready for the return!" a fan wrote.
"Dog, if I get to see him at Full Gear, I’m gonna cry," a fan claimed.
"About time. The house needs to get cleaned," another fan commented.
