A report regarding potential plans for Bobby Lashley's AEW debut has just surfaced. This provides a further explanation for why this wasn't done last night at WrestleDream.

During the pay-per-view, Swerve Strickland and Prince Nana had an in-ring segment with MVP and Shelton Benjamin. This was to discuss the business offer that was given to Swerve a few weeks back by MVP. In the end, Swerve turned them down and things got heated between them, as it seemed that they weren't there to negotiate.

Previously, it was reported that they held off on Lashley's debut due to the various other big angles present throughout the night. A report from Fightful Select has just revealed that AEW did not pull the trigger and have Bobby Lashley debut as this would have resulted in Swerve getting beat down by the trio in the segment.

With Bryan Danielson going through a brutal attack later in the night, the AEW Creative perhaps wished to avoid having two hometown heroes suffer the same fate in one night. It is important to note that The All-Mighty has not been spotted backstage for any show of the promotion just yet.

Before Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin could make his AEW in-ring debut this week

As of now, Shelton Benjamin is the only one associated with MVP on-screen. He serves as his business partner and someone who deals with complaints head-on.

Apart from the heated exchange with Swerve Strickland this week, the duo got into another one backstage with Lio Rush. The former WWE cruiserweight revealed that he had just signed with AEW once more, but was interrupted by Porter and Benjamin.

He laid down the challenge saying he was available for Dynamite, and MVP hinted at them taking up the challenge by scheduling a meeting with Tony Khan. This could be The Gold Standard's debut for the company.

It remains to be seen if Bobby Lashley will debut on the same night, or whether the promotion will hold out a little more and perfectly plan out his debut appearance.
