The wrestling world recently reacted to Buddy Matthews reportedly making a huge decision on his AEW future. Matthews joined the Jacksonville-based promotion in 2022, immediately forming an alliance with Malakai Black and Brody King.

While he has failed to win any singles title so far, the 35-year-old star has tasted some success by winning the trios championships alongside his fellow House of Black members once.

As per Ibou of WrestlePurists, Buddy Matthews has re-signed with All Elite Wrestling, though the specifics of the deal have not been revealed as of this writing. Fans took to X/Twitter to react to the same, with a few users having fun by bringing up Matthews' real-life wife Rhea Ripley's kayfabe relationship with Dominik Mysterio.

New Champs in WWE! More RIGHT HERE

"Him and Dom in a feud. What could’ve been……," said one fan.
"I totally get his thinking here. He would be constantly linked to Rhea in WWE. In AEW he has chance to forge his own path," tweeted another.

There were also fans who were happy about Buddy Matthews seemingly opting to stay with All Elite Wrestling instead of jumping ship to WWE.

"Love this for Buddy and AEW. I feel Buddy would’ve gotten lost in the fray in WWE. Now turn him tf upppp AEW!" said a fan.
"Easy money. Don’t blame him, tweeted another fan.

Buddy Matthews recently teased his return to AEW programming

Buddy Matthews hasn't been in All Elite Wrestling since the one-year anniversary episode of Collision, where House of Black took on Bang Bang Gang. He suffered a storyline injury mid-match and was subsequently attacked by The Patriarchy in a backstage segment.

The House of Black member recently shared a clip of him limping to the backstage area and possibly hinted at a comeback to the Jacksonville-based promotion with a cryptic message. You can check out his Instagram post below:

"I hear, I see, I recover," Matthews wrote.

The most recent episode of Collision saw The Patriarchy win the trios titles against Bang Bang Gang, and there was a flickering of the lights to end the show, leading to speculation that House of Black was behind it. With All In just over a month away, Matthews' return seems inevitable in the weeks leading up to the pay-per-view.
