Bobby Lashley has revealed how a WWE Hall of Famer played a crucial role in his blockbuster move to AEW. This might not surprise the fans, given how big of a name this is.
The former WWE World Champion made his AEW debut at Dynamite: Fright Night toward the end of October and has since gone on to make a name for himself. After aligning himself with MVP and the Hurt Syndicate from the get-go, he has firmly placed himself as a main event star.
He was recently asked who drew him to AEW and Lashley revealed Adam "Edge" Copeland played a massive part as did MVP and Shelton Benjamin. He was a guest on the Sports Guys Talking Wrestling podcast when he said:
“I spoke to Edge, also, I spoke to MVP, of course, and Shelton kinda’ talked about it. When I talked to Edge, Edge really, really made some good points and he just told me how much he loved it over there and that was a big thing for me.” [H/T EWrestling News]

Bobby Lashley wants to retire in AEW
On the same podcast, Bobby Lashley reiterated his desire to retire in AEW as he is having fun with the Hurt Syndicate. He alluded to how his time in WWE ended and how that was not ideal.
"Having the ability to run The Hurt Business and to keep going and to really end my career the right way? I got injured in Spain before my contract was up in WWE and that was not the way I wanted to end my career," he said.
Given that he has his best friends with him now at AEW, it should not be surprising if Bobby Lashley does indeed see this company as his final one. It will be interesting to see how Tony Khan books him moving forward.
