Former WWE Tag Team Champion Matt Hardy shockingly returned to a major promotion tonight after his reported departure from AEW.
Following his debut in 2020, Matt Hardy's journey with AEW recently came to an end after his contract expired. It was also reported that Hardy was offered a new deal but he did not plan on re-signing with the Tony Khan-led company. After news of the legend's free agency became public, fans began speculating whether he would return to WWE for one final run.
Hardy teased his potential WWE comeback by sharing some cryptic posts on social media. However, he surprised the pro wrestling world by making an appearance at TNA Wrestling's Rebellion pay-per-view. It marked the 49-year-old's return to the company for the first time since 2017.
Matt Hardy brought back his iconic "Broken" gimmick at the TNA Wrestling Rebellion pay-per-view. He confronted Moose in the ring after the lights went out. The former WWE Tag Team Champion later took out Moose with his signature move, Twist of Fate.
It is unclear whether Hardy has signed a new deal with TNA or is still a free agent. Will he have another memorable run with the company following his comeback? Only time will tell.
