AEW All In featured the first-ever match between Britt Baker and Mercedes Moné. After a brief feud, the veterans locked up in the Wembley Stadium but have seemingly moved on from each other. Baker is now making surprising remarks on the former WWE Superstar
The CEO and the D.M.D. did battle for over seventeen minutes in front of a packed Wembley Stadium in London, but the AEW Original failed to capture the TBS Championship. While the former Sasha Banks of WWE moved on immediately, Baker took more time off amid backstage rumors and speculation from a pre-All In incident.
Baker has no hard feelings against Moné. The former AEW Women's World Champion recently spoke to TV Insider and declared the current Strong Women's Champion to be one of her role models. The Doctor was asked how she looks back on the All In match.
"Mercedes is absolutely one of my role models. Someone I always dreamed of wrestling in the ring. I can’t lie. My experience working with her was awesome. She was so cool to me. She always treated me like her equal. Mercedes is iconic. She has done it all, wrestled everywhere. Her WWE matches I will study until the end of time. Ones I will always show to people getting into wrestling," Britt Baker said.
Baker continued and pointed to when Mercedes dropped the NXT Women's Championship to Bayley at TakeOver: Brooklyn in 2015. The highly-praised match led to The Role Model defeating Mercedes in the first-ever 30-Minute Iron Man Match at TakeOver: Respect two months later.
"The Bayley and Sasha Banks TakeOver match, at one point I think I memorized the match from start to finish. I look at it as I got to share the ring with one of my idols. I hope it’s not the last time either. I’m thankful for the experience because a lot of people don’t get those opportunities. You get asked what your dream match all the time, but do you ever get to have it? A lot of people can’t say they have," Britt Baker added.
Baker has not wrestled since the loss to Moné at All In. She also has not appeared on AEW TV since the pay-per-view but will return tonight on Dynamite in a match against Serena Deeb.
