An AEW star recently name-dropped Brock Lesnar on a popular show. The star is none other than Mason of MxM.

Mason (fka Dio Maddin and Mace) was signed to WWE from 2016 to 2023. He was briefly used on RAW's commentary team alongside Vic Joseph in 2019. However, Dio Maddin's short run ended after Lesnar delivered an F5 to him on the announce table. He was later repackaged as Mace and added to the Retribution stable which debuted in late 2020.

In the recent episode of HEY! (EW) on AEW's YouTube channel, RJ City asked Mason about his brief three-month stint on commentary on WWE RAW. Mason revealed that the company noted how tall he was during his angle with The Beast Incarnate and decided to remove him from the commentary team.

"That was because I stood up and I was too tall. They actually didn't realize that I was taller than Brock Lesnar at the time and then they were like, 'Oh, this is a bad look.'" [5:45 -5:55]

Paul Heyman claims there is no one like Brock Lesnar

Paul Heyman and The Beast Incarnate have mostly been paired together since Lesnar's debut in the WWE. Despite his absence from television for more than a year now, due to his alleged involvement in the Vince McMahon legal controversies, Paul Heyman had nothing but praise for his former client.

In a live edition of the Not Sam Wrestling Podcast, The Wiseman claimed Lesnar had it all since the day he started with the promotion. Paul Heyman said that Brock was unique and wasn't going to be like the other stars in WWE.

"Brock Lesnar always had it, Brock Lesnar always understood, Brock always knew he was unique. He was different. He wasn’t going to be the same as everybody else, and the more he grew in stature and leverage, the more we could dictate the manner in which he was going to be presented. There’s no one like Brock. I mean even his most die-hard competitors will tell you, 'There’s no one like Brock Lesnar!' So, we were not going to ever put him in a position where he was just gonna be like everybody else," Paul Heyman said. [From 42:21 to 44:22]

The former Universal Champion has been absent from WWE since last year's SummerSlam. It will be interesting to see if the promotion brings him back sometime in the future.
