The wrestling world reacted to WWE Superstar Cody Rhodes referencing AEW on the latest episode of RAW.

Following his victory over Brock Lesnar at Saturday night's Backlash Premium Live Event, The American Nightmare kicked off Monday Night RAW.

Tonight's episode of WWE RAW took place from Jacksonville, Florida, which is the home of Tony Khan-led promotion. Rhodes addressed the crowd reminding them about his time in AEW and said it was his home during the pandemic.

"Many of you know this was my home during the pandemic. We made a lot of good memories together," Cody Rhodes said.

Following this, the Twitterverse reacted to Rhodes' promo. One fan jokingly mentioned that The Beast added a new memory for The American Nightmare.

Some fans appreciated the former TNT Champion paying respect to the promotion he helped create.

People reminisced about his run in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Brock Lesnar made a return later in the night and cost The American Nightmare a spot in the semi-finals of the World Heavyweight Title tournament.

The Beast Incarnate issued a challenge to Rhodes following his attack. The former Universal Champion wanted to fight Cody at Night of Champions in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on May 27th.

Brandi Rhodes reacted to Brock Lesnar's attack on WWE RAW

As mentioned earlier, Brock Lesnar attacked Rhodes on the red brand. This beatdown cost the former Intercontinental Champion a shot at the newly introduced WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

Rhodes was competing in a triple-threat match against The Miz and Finn Balor. It was a first-round bout in the tournament to crown a new World Champion. Unintentionally, Lesnar helped Finn Balor advance to the semi-finals of the tournament.

Upon seeing her husband taken out and his dream of winning his first world title in WWE shattered, Brandi Rhodes was furious. She took to Twitter to let her feelings known to the world.

"Gonna sick Yeti and Pharaoh on that mother f*cker. 😡," Brandi Rhodes tweeted.

Following the brutal assault, Rhodes was being treated by the medical team in the trainer's room. Sami Zayn was also seen sitting next to him, offering support.

Later in the night, during a backstage interview with Cathy Kelley, Cody Rhodes accepted the challenge to collide with The Beast. Thus, the match was made official by the authorities. The two are set to have their Backlash rematch in two weeks in The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
