The star in question is none other than Shingo Tagaki. The Japanese star and Danielson went head to head in the quarterfinal of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, and it was a spectacle. The two of them last fought each other 14 years back at Dragon Gate USA in a match that Danielson also won.

The match started off in quick fashion, with the two exchanging hard blows. Shingo hit Danielson with a Dragon Screw neck whip off the apron, and that had the former WWE star clutching his neck in a worrying scene. It looked so bad that even the doctors had to come and check on him. After a near count-out, however, Bryan Danielson made it back into the ring.

After a lot of near falls and jaw-dropping moments, the AEW star mustered up every ounce of energy that was left in him. Shingo was looking for a powerbomb, but Danielson countered it with elbows and locked in the Fujiwara Armbar to pick up the win.

Bryan Danielson qualified for the semifinals of the tournament, and it will be interesting to see who he will be facing.
