Bryan Danielson has shared an intriguing health update ahead of AEW WrestleDream 2024. He is scheduled to put his World Championship on the line against Jon Moxley at the event.

The former WWE star is known to have issues with injuries, especially his neck and he has not kept any secrets about it. There have been rumblings that retirement could soon be on the cards for Danielson as he continues to battle the wounds.

Danielson has now given an update on how he has been feeling and even alluded to how he felt after his match with Kazuchika Okada. He was speaking with Uncrowned with Yahoo Sports when he said he could be feeling the effects of his neck injury more than before. It was hampering his movements in the ring and he also had difficulty sleeping.

“Midway through the match, I started losing strength in my legs. There’s a point later in the match where I’m trying to kick [Okada] and I can’t turn over my kicks. That’s something that I have the body mechanics to do because I have been doing it for so long, but here I am and I can’t turn my hip over for this kick. When I got to the back, I went to the trainer right away and they worked on me for like 30 minutes. They said it was stemming from the neck stuff. It’s getting to a point where, physically, we’re seeing the signs. I haven’t been sleeping well because I have been having this shooting pain down my arm.” [H/T: Yahoo Sports]

Tommy Dreamer thinks Bryan Danielson requires neck surgery

Tommy Dreamer is quite vocal when it comes to expressing his opinions on matters related to wrestling. He has done just that when he was talking about Bryan Danielson.

The ECW legend said that he does not believe The American Dragon will retire if he loses the title at WrestleDream and also said that he will undergo surgery on his neck shortly after. Speaking on a recent episode of the Busted Open Radio podcast, he said:

"[Last match] ever on 'Dynamite'? No," "Do I think he's going to retain at WrestleDream? I do not. I disagree with that. If he loses, he's done and he's done for a while, but I do not think he will be [...] listen, he needs neck surgery, legit. He's gonna be gone probably for a year, but I don't think he's going to announce his retirement, and I don't think—you know, in wrestling, they've always done things like [...] Sting came back recently, but he didn't wrestle. But I do think Bryan Danielson—I think he'll be a part-time in-ring performer after WrestleDream."

It will be interesting to see what will be the result in the main event of WrestleDream and also the implications it might have on Bryan Danielson and his future.
