Buddy Matthews has finally commented on being assaulted by WWE legend Christian Cage and The Patriarchy in his last appearance on AEW TV. He has also teased returning to the Tony Khan-led promotion.

Matthews made his AEW debut in 2022, combining forces with Malakai Black and Brody King as part of The House of Black. However, he has not been seen on TV for over a month. The Australian star last wrestled in a trios match alongside his stablemates against Bang Bang Gang on the June 15 edition of Collision.

During the trios match, Buddy Matthews seemingly suffered a knee injury while jumping from the top rope and had to be taken backstage. Later, he was assaulted by Christian Cage and The Patriarchy. Amid much speculation about his status, it was reported that Matthews would be off TV due to personal reasons.

On Instagram, Matthews recently shared a video where he was seen being taken out of the arena following the abovementioned injury. The former NXT Tag Team Champion also sent a message teasing his AEW comeback.
