Buddy Matthews reacts after Malakai Black confirms his AEW status amid retirement rumors

Malakai Black recently responded to rumors of his retirement. Now, Buddy Matthews has also reacted to speculations regarding his stablemate.

As soon as Malakai Black joined AEW, he formed the House of Black with Brody King and Buddy Matthews. The group later added Julia Hart to their ranks. Together, they have dominated the AEW roster for the past few years and even won the AEW World Trios Championship.

However, in the last few months, things haven't gone well for the faction. Black failed to capture the TNT Championship from Adam Copeland during their feud and House of Black hasn't managed to regain the World Trios Championship after dropping it to The Acclaimed last year.

This past week on Dynamite, Black faced off against Adam Cole and came up short. Following the match, Black hugged Cole before walking away which led to speculations of his retirement. As a result, the leader of the House of Black posted a video to his Instagram stories saying that he was not retiring. He also urged his fans not to believe everything they read online.

Following this, Buddy Matthews also took to social media to hilariously react to the rumors of Black's retirement on X (fka Twitter).

"@SNM_Buddy: 'It’s been an interesting run man!' @malakaiblxck: 'Yeah, it has!' @SNM_Buddy: 'See you tomorrow!?' @malakaiblxck: 'Yep!'" he wrote.

Brody King also reacted to rumors of Malakai Black's retirement

Brody King has also been a part of the House of Black from the very beginning. He formed a tag team pairing with Malakai Black called Kings of The Black Throne. As a result, the two of them have gotten quite close.

After Malakai responded to rumors of his retirement, Brody King took to social media to jokingly state that his stablemate was retiring to start a traveling cat circus.

"I’m going to miss my brother Malakai… I heard after last nights match @malakaiblxck is leaving wrestling forever and starting a traveling cat circus. I knew it was his true calling when he showed me a video of his cats reenacting a move for move Ospreay vs Ricochet match," he wrote.
