Bully Ray has called a former WWE Champion the “stiffest” opponent of his career. This will definitely surprise a few fans from their era. The star in question is Rob Van Dam.

Bully Ray and RVD were integral parts of ECW and had career-defining runs in the company. They also had great runs in WWE and are Hall of Famers, and rightly so.

A fan on X/Twitter asked Bully Ray who were the stiffest opponents he faced in ECW. To which, Ray mentioned Rob Van Dam.

Rob Van Dam shows up in AEW from time to time and can still hang in there with some of the young wrestlers of today. As for Bully Ray, he has taken a back seat from wrestling and is a voice of reason in the wrestling podcast sphere.

Rob Van Dam calls WWE star John Cena an excellent soldier

Rob Van Dam still has good connections in the Stamford-based company, and he has now taken the liberty to praise John Cena.

Cena and RVD had a memorable match in front of a hostile ECW crowd, during which he defeated the former to win the heavyweight title. He was speaking on his 1 of a Kind podcast when he called The Cenation Leader an excellent soldier for the company.

"Someone like John Cena, excellent soldier for WWE. He could push their agenda, he could embody all of their values and that's a hell of a thing to have. That is a very valuable soldier to have that will go out there and push your values, whatever they are. The fans love him, he's very talented and I think he chose to be that soldier," Van Dam said.

It is great to see that RVD still thinks highly of Cena. This just goes to show the level of respect the two men have for each other.
