This week's episode of AEW Dynamite set a new record with a shockingly low rating. WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray has now provided an unexpected reaction to the discourse surrounding the numbers.

The latest episode of Wednesday Night Dynamite drew an abysmal 502,000 viewers on average. It was a strange and unexpected low, considering that the show had neither the NHL nor the NBA Finals to compete with. There's been much speculation regarding the ratings and why it happened, but as can be expected, many wrestling fans and pundits have jumped at the opportunity to troll and celebrate the blow to All Elite Wrestling.

Despite having criticized AEW plenty in the past, Bully Ray isn't a fan of this behavior. He took to X (formerly Twitter) today to share his thoughts on the matter, insisting that real wrestling fans do not celebrate a promotion's hardships:

"Actual wrestling fans do not celebrate the lows and hardships any wrestling company goes through," wrote Bully.

Corey Graves deleted his Tweet! More details HERE.

When a fan (@WWEGareth) countered by claiming that Tony Khan had brought it upon himself, Bully delivered a harsh response stating that he was nothing but part of the toxic WWE fanbase, who hid behind a keyboard.

"Dude…STFU You are no better than the toxic AEW fan base. A nameless, faceless coward who hides behind a keyboard because you are embarrassed by your own existence. You’re the toxic WWE fanbase. Read the fkn tweet again. Trash," he responded.

Backstage reactions to AEW Dynamite's record low rating

Fans were stunned by this week's Dynamite ratings, and there's no way to tell how and when they'll bounce back. However, a few possibilities have been suggested as reasons the show may have suffered this past Wednesday.

According to Fightful Select, sources within All Elite Wrestling hadn't expected such low numbers, but theories were floated regarding The Big Bang Theory, which is Dynamite's usual lead-in, being replaced by Black Panther this week.

The addition of the Juneteenth holiday occurring on Wednesday and the Kendrick Lamar concert being broadcast may have also played a part. Since Dynamite still ranked at #3 for the night among original programs on cable, it seems that television ratings overall may have taken a hit.

Next week's AEW Dynamite will be the go-home episode before the Forbidden Door pay-per-view and will also feature more of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament, which got started this Wednesday. Whether the flagship show can bounce back in the ratings remains to be seen.
