Bully Ray advised AEW to treat and present a former women's champion like WWE legend Chyna. The talent in question is Kamille.
The August 14, 2024, edition of Dynamite witnessed a blockbuster title match as TBS Champion Mercedes Mone retained against AEW original Hikaru Shida with a major assist from her new ally, Kamille. A massive boot to the face from The Brickhouse while the referee was distracted rocked the former AEW Women's World Champion, leaving her open to suffer a Mone Maker and go down for the count.
At one point during the matchup, Kamille held The Shining Samurai off from continuing her offense on Mone. Although the former NWA World Women's Champion was seen seemingly backing up from the Japanese star, the distraction allowed The CEO to land a meteora on Shida and regain control of the bout.
The sequence from AEW Dynamite found a critic in Bully Ray. The ECW and WWE veteran voiced his disapproval of Kamille on Busted Open, backing up from Hikaru Shida on television, arguing that nobody should currently be booked to force the 31-year-old powerhouse to go on the back foot, considering her role as the bodyguard to a top champion.
He also suggested that the Tony Khan-led promotion should take after WWE's presentation of the late, great Chyna in its presentation of Kamille.
"If you wanna know how to treat Kamille, just look up this one name - Chyna. Treat Kamille like Chyna. Here's the first issue: Shida steps towards Kamille on the floor, Kamille backs up. You're a brand-new enforcer. You're the brand new heavy in Mercedes Mone's act. You should not be backing up from anybody. You're a bada** bodyguard. Nobody, at this juncture, and I mean nobody, should be backing Kamille up. Kamille should only be backing up when the time is absolutely right for the absolute right talent, and it's not Hikaru Shida,. Ray said. [H/T X Profile of Busted Open]

Kamille responded to Bully Ray's criticism of her booking on AEW Dynamite
Since her arrival in AEW several weeks ago, Kamille has been asserting her dominance as Mercedes Mone's enforcer and in-ring competitor. She squashed Brittany Jade last month and destroyed Clara Carter and Jazmyne Hao in less than two minutes in a handicap match on last week's episode of Dynamite.
Despite clearly being booked as a noteworthy star in the squared circle, All Elite Wrestling's handling of Kamille this week on the Wednesday-night show came under some criticism from Bully Ray. However, the former NWA star offered a counterargument to Ray's observations on X/Twitter, pointing out how she planned to trick Shida into a trap, enabling The Boss to take advantage.
Mone will defend her TBS Title against Britt Baker at All In 2024.
