The AEW status of Ricky Starks continues to be one of the hottest topics of discussion in the world of pro wrestling. Starks remains under contract but has not wrestled for Tony Khan in almost a year. Amid recent happenings and controversial public comments, a wrestling veteran and All Elite Wrestling official spoke up and offered a unique insight into the matter.

Jerry Lynn had successful runs with WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, and ROH. He retired from active competition on March 23, 2013, exactly twenty-five years after his debut, and since then he has worked behind the scenes. AEW hired Lynn to work as a coach and producer during its inaugural year of 2019, and in June 2023 he was appointed to the ROH Board of Directors.

The New F'n Show has just publicly reacted to Starks' recent viral comments on the situation with Khan and AEW, which he described as a "mindf**k" in expressing frustration over sitting at home. In a new discussion with Wrestling Shoot Interviews, Lynn was asked about The Absolute's situation. The 61-year-old recalled why wrestlers leaked dirtsheets in the past and felt wrestlers did that at present to get more attention.

"I can't speak for him and why he did it, but years ago when it was just the sheets, a lot of the guys would leak info and stuff so they would get talked more favorably in their matches. Like, that's why, and now, I think a lot of it is getting attention," Jerry Lynn said. [H/T: WrestlingInc]

A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues 'spoiled' and 'narcissistic' HERE.

Lynn noted that airing dirty laundry in public shows everyone in the industry in a bad light. The former ROH World Champion also knocked the idea of wrestlers appearing to be starved for outside-the-ring attention, noting that it could make them come across as "immature children." Lynn also encouraged talents to build up the business, instead of tearing it down.

"Now we look like just a bunch of immature children. To me, wrestling is the best job in the world, it's supposed to be fun. If it's not fun we're doing something wrong," Jerry Lynn added. [H/T: WrestlingInc]

Ricky Starks rumored for AEW return this week

AEW will present its sixth annual Fight for The Fallen edition of Dynamite on Wednesday from Harrah's Cherokee Center in Asheville, NC. The benefit show will raise money for victims of the recent Hurricane Helene in Western NC.

Ricky Starks is among those rumored to appear on the first Dynamite episode of 2025. At the pre-Worlds End media call this past week, Tony Khan was asked if there were plans to have Starks appear at Fight for The Fallen.

"I think we'll have to stay tuned to see who's going to be a part of the Fight for the Fallen simulcast. It remains to be seen. We've got a great roster here, and we've got one of our best pay-per-view lineups for Worlds End this year. I think it's a tremendous card. Then, as for who's going to be at the 'Mother of All Simulcasts,' that remains to be seen. But thanks for asking," Tony Khan said.
