Mercedes Mone won the TBS Championship at AEW Double or Nothing, defeating Willow Nightingale. This was The CEO's first match in the Tony Khan-led company. WWE Hall of Famer Eric Bischoff recently commented on Mone's booking.

On the 83 Weeks podcast before Double or Nothing, Eric Bischoff claimed that Mercedes Mone's buzz was gone and her booking had been "horrible."

"It's flat. Nobody cares. Her buzz is absolutely gone, it was self-inflicted, poor booking, just poor decision-making from Day One until now. It's horrible. Mercedes herself, sure she had some influence over how she was going to be used. Whatever decisions were made collectively or independently of each other, they have taken all the gas out of her tank." [From 1:25 to 2:06]

The former WCW executive further mentioned that AEW had overexposed The CEO and hampered her on-screen character's credibility.

"Her appearances have been borderline horrible, bad if you are in a good mood, marginal if you are in a good mood. You kill all the anticipation by overexposing her in a way that she shouldn't have ever been used. It killed her character. Nobody cares," Bischoff added. [From 2:09 to 2:35]

Mone is a 10-time WWE champion. During her tenure with the global juggernaut, she won the RAW Women's Title five times and the SmackDown Women's Championship once. She also secured the Women's Tag Team Titles thrice. Before transitioning to the main roster, she was among the top names on the white-and-gold brand, having held the NXT Women's Title once.

A prominent star turned heel at AEW Double or Nothing after Mercedes Mone's victory over Willow Nightingale

Mercedes Mone debuted in AEW on the Big Business edition of Dynamite in March 2024. Meanwhile, reports indicated that her All Elite Wrestling salary could make her the highest-paid female professional wrestler.

She defeated Willow Nightingale for the TBS Championship in an 18-minute match on May 26. Many expected Mone to turn heel at Double or Nothing. However, the creative team swerved fans by booking Kris Statlander to betray Nightingale at the pay-per-view. Statlander attacked the 30-year-old after the latter's loss, cementing her heel turn.

Many fans and professionals believe The CEO could excel as a heel in AEW. It remains to be seen whether Mone will embrace her dark side after winning the TBS Title in her debut bout.
