AEW has lost another former WWE Superstar. After months of speculation, the latest All Elite Wrestling departure was confirmed today and it is already a hot topic of discussion among fans. The general sentiment towards the release seems to be positive as many fans were not thrilled with the star's brief run.

CJ Perry confirmed her release from All Elite Wrestling today during an interview. The former Lana of WWE signed with Tony Khan's promotion in September 2023, but has not appeared on television in more than six months. It was just revealed that she has not worked for the company in some time. Her last appearance was at World's End in late December last year, where she turned on Andrade El Idolo to help her ex-husband, Miro (fka Rusev).

The former Ravishing Russian made a peculiar statement today, noting that she wants to be the next Paul Heyman. Perry's release and her remarks on wanting to cultivate new talent have led to some savage reactions from fans on social media.

You can check out a few of the reactions below:

"One of those former WWE talents who jumpships with AEW and was relevant when they debuted and faded after 2 weeks [skull emoji] [laughing emoji]," wrote one fan.

Miro has not wrestled since the aforementioned win over Andrade at World's End. Many fans reacted to Perry's departure with thoughts about the three-time WWE United States Champion as well. Below are a few of those reactions:

"The whole Miro and Cj thing in AEW just weird. Miro could have been doing great work in AEW or even just work somewhere different," another fan commented.

Tony Khan's initial remarks on CJ Perry in AEW

CJ Perry fka Lana of WWE debuted with All Elite Wrestling at All Out 2023. She hit Powerhouse Hobbs with a steel chair in trying to save her then-husband, Miro after their 15-minute match, won by the former WWE Superstar.

Tony Khan was asked about Perry during the post-show media scrum that night. The AEW President confirmed then that she was not signed to a lengthy contract.

"Well, CJ, I’ll start with that. I think it’s great to have CJ here. It’s not a long-term guaranteed thing or anything. But I think at least for tonight, it was great to have her appearing with us. I think it was a great surprise, a great show," Tony Khan said.

Miro and Perry had various interactions in the All Elite Wrestling storylines until she began managing Andrade. That led to the World's End match, where Miro picked up the win due to a turn by his ex-wife. She never made another appearance for the company after that.
