Career altering title match announced ahead of AEW Dynamite

Another major title match has been made official ahead of this week's episode of AEW Dynamite, featuring two top stars in what would be a first-time bout between the two. This would be Mercedes Moné and Kris Statlander.

For the past few weeks, Statlander has shown great interest in The CEO and her TBS Championship. Back in October last year, she held the title until she was dethroned by Julia Hart. Moné then won the title in May at 2024 Double or Nothing by beating Willow Nightingale, the champion at the time.

Kris Statlander has already proven that she deserves a title match. Last week, she shockingly made quick work of Mercedes Moné's henchwoman Kamille, proving she was a legitimate threat to the title.

Tony Khan has made the match official, as this will now be part of the match card for Full Gear in a few weeks.

"TBS Title @MercedesVarnado vs @callmekrisstat TBS Champion Mercedes Moné will defend the title vs former champ Kris Statlander at AEW Full Gear! The CEO + Stat are both here at #AEWDynamite TONIGHT before the title fight at Full Gear!" Khan wrote.

This is the third official match on the main show, as Hangman Adam Page vs. Jay White and Jon Moxley vs. Orange Cassidy were previously announced.
