John Cena shocked the wrestling world at WWE Money in the Bank when he announced that he would be retiring in 2025. As the reactions continue to pour in days later, Cena's long-time rival, Chris Jericho, has just offered his candid thoughts on the matter.
Cena's farewell tour is set to kick off next year and will see him compete on The Grandest Stage of Them All for the last time at WrestleMania 41, then wrestle until the end of the year. The legend began wrestling in November 1999, just over nine years after Jericho's debut in October 1990.
The 47-year-old Cena has around 2,300 matches to his name, while the 53-year-old Jericho has competed in approximately 2,700 official bouts.
AEW's current FTW Champion recently discussed The Face That Runs The Place's career in an interview with McGuire On Wrestling, and the host commented that Jericho will have a longer career than Cena. The Learning Tree then responded to clear things up while also praising his former colleague.

"My career is already longer than John Cena’s. No, I mean it’s great. John’s always had a great love for wrestling, and he’s got a great connection with the fans, so I think it’s a cool way to go about it. People know this is it, and John’s not the type of guy to say anything lightly, so I’m sure he’s been focused on this, and working with the company to make sure it’s right. I’m sure it’s gonna be a really great year-and-a-half for Cena fans and himself," Chris Jericho said. [H/T: POST Wrestling]
