AEW star Chris Jericho has become a polarizing figure for wrestling fans, but he recently continued his trend of stepping up to help out fellow legends of the business. After WWE Hall of Famer Abdullah the Butcher was hospitalized, the inaugural AEW World Champion donated a large amount to help him pull through.
Chris Jericho has donated many times to support his fellow wrestling stars in the past. He's given money to Umaga's family, Axl Rotten, Heidi Katrina, and a member of the Hart family, among others.
Abdullah the Butcher is a legend of the business who is primarily remembered for his hardcore matches and brutal style. The 83-year-old was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2011, a major accomplishment for someone who barely worked for the Stamford-based company.
Abdullah was hospitalized this past week with intestinal issues. A fundraiser was established to help him cover the cost of surgery, with the goal being $20,000. Chris Jericho stepped up and donated $2,500, more than 10% of the target amount.

Konnan thinks Chris Jericho will retire in WWE once his AEW run has ended
Chris Jericho has been with AEW since its founding in 2019. While many fans have turned on the legendary star in recent years, Jericho has demonstrated his commitment to Tony Khan's company and has been incredibly protective of it.
However, many believe The Ocho will ultimately end his time with the promotion and return to WWE, where he has a Hall of Fame induction waiting. Speaking on a recent edition of Keepin' it 100, Konnan speculated that Jericho will make all the money he can with AEW before heading back to the Stamford-based company:
"So, he'll [Chris Jericho] take all that money as long as he can and still get a [WWE] Hall of Fame [induction]. I mean, that's where he needs to retire. That's [who] made him who he is today, and they do it right," Konnan said.
Jericho is now 53 years old but is still going strong in the ring. Whether the legend chooses to hang up his boots after his current contract remains to be seen.
