Chris Jericho has just namedropped a former WWE Superstar tonight during the opening contest of AEW Collision. He did so after a certain star paid tribute to the legend.
The Big Boss Man was an iconic figure in the wrestling industry who competed in WWF and WCW from the late 80s to the early 2000s. He was posthumously inducted into the company's Hall of Fame in 2016.
Just moments ago during the opening contest on Collision between Cope (fka Adam Copeland) and Big Bill, the latter connected with his version of the Boss Man Slam.
Chris Jericho, who was seated at the commentary desk for Bill's match, talked about how his mentee was paying tribute to the legend. He also mentioned how The Big Boss Man was from the area, as tonight's show is taking place in Athens, Georgia.

"Even though he didn't get the three I sure love seeing Big Bill put the hammer down on Cope right there. Tribute to the late Big Boss Man, came from just down the road over here," said Jericho.
Much to Chris Jericho's dismay, Big Bill would fall short against Cope during his match. He was able to shockingly kick out of a Spear, but this was the beginning of the end with the Rated-R Superstar making him submit with a chokehold moments later.
