Chris Jericho has just won his first singles title in quite a while. He did so by fully cementing his heel turn, which came at the expense of a top AEW star. Tonight, he captured the FTW Championship from Hook.

The Ocho was the inaugural AEW World Champion, but after losing his title, he has gone a while without holding one. He eventually won the ROH World Title in 2022, but only held this for a couple of months. Tonight, he ended his near two-year title drought, and simultaneously ending the Cold-Hearted Handsome Devil's eight-month reign.

At All In last August, Hook defeated Jack Perry to reclaim his title and has not dropped this since.

It was an even affair from the start, as both the veteran and the second-generation star were able to get in some offense. However, due to this being FTW rules, where everything was legal, Chris Jericho used some questionable tactics.

He hit Hook with a low blow which was the beginning of the end for the champion. Chris Jericho then hit a couple of Judas Effects, but this still wasn't enough to put his opponent away. He then topped this off by pulling out his bat from under the ring, and hitting Hook with it, which secured him victory.

After the match, Hook's father Taz then came over to the ring, to check on his son. Jericho simply walked away with the title, showing no remorse for his actions.
