Chris Jericho recently opened up about an AEW star unexpectedly receiving a massive pop from the crowd a few months ago. He discussed the reaction Big Bill received during the promotion's tour of the UK during the All In 2024 season.

On the August 24 episode of AEW Collision, Hook took on Big Bill in a singles match before the former's FTW Title clash against Chris Jericho at All In 2024. Hook's win didn't come as a surprise, considering he was heading into a pay-per-view bout. However, no one expected the kind of pop Big Bill would receive from the fans in Cardiff.

During a recent edition of the Talk is Jericho podcast, Chris Jericho spoke about how he was stunned to see the crowd's reaction. The ROH World Champion added that if Big Bill were to win the AEW World Title on the show, it could have received the biggest reaction of all time from fans.

"I remember thinking, this is like a Twilight Zone thing if you could pause life and rewind it a bit, I would have said, 'Let's make this for the world championship and put Big Bill over.' It would have been the biggest reaction ever," said Jericho. (H/T - Fightful)

Big Bill was taken aback by the reaction on AEW Collision

Elsewhere in the podcast, Big Bill mentioned that he was perplexed by the reaction as he was trying to get fans behind Hook ahead of his match at AEW All In 2024. The 38-year-old added that though he tried everything in his capacity to get spectators to boo him, he gave up after a point and basked in the adoration.

"You feel appreciated, which is nice, but you're also in the middle of a match where the goal is to get HOOK babyfaced going into [All In], and it's not working. You want to bask in it, but also you have to get back on track. After they rushed the barricades and I pulled every rabbit out of the hat that I could think of, and it didn't work, I was just like, 'Alright, whatever.'" (H/T - Fightful)

Most recently, Big Bill was in action on the October 16 edition of Dynamite, where he and his Learning Tree stablemate, Bryan Keith, lost to FTR.
