CJ Perry (fka Lana) recently shared a personal update pertaining to her family on social media. The former All Elite Wrestling star also asked fans to send their prayers.
Perry made a name for herself in pro wrestling as a manager and as a competitor in WWE, where she performed under the ring name Lana. She was most famously associated with Miro, who was then going by Rusev. Perry was released by the Stamford-based promotion in 2021, one year after The Bulgarian Brute was let go by the company.
However, two years later, Perry made her debut in AEW, saving Miro from an assault at the hands of Powerhouse Hobbs at All Out 2023. She had a brief run in the Tony Khan-led promotion and managed current SmackDown star Andrade El Idolo, although she would eventually turn on the latter during his match against Miro at Worlds End 2023. After not appearing on AEW TV for an extended period of time, Perry revealed last month that she had parted ways with the Jacksonville-based promotion.
The 39-year-old star revealed last week that her grandfather had to be hospitalized after suffering a fall and that he would have to be taken back to assisted living. A few hours ago, CJ Perry shared a story on her Instagram in which she disclosed that she was in Sunrise Senior Living, an organization that provides assisted living to older individuals.

She further revealed that she had stayed with her grandfather all day in the facility and requested her fans to send them their prayers.
"Coming back to Sunrise Living.. Will stay the night with my grandfather, been here all day with him, and.. say a prayer for us."

Dutch Mantell commented on CJ Perry's AEW run
Despite generating a lot of excitement with her arrival in All Elite Wrestling, CJ Perry's stint in the promotion was brief and, according to several fans, underwhelming.
Wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell echoed such views in his assessment of the former WWE Superstar's AEW run last month. On his Story Time with Dutch Mantell podcast, he critiqued Tony Khan for his creative handling of Perry and Miro.
"Useless, completely useless, she showed up over there and Miro... and they showed up over there and nobody missed them gone at all. I didn't even until I read about it, and even when they got there. This is what AEW does, if you're going to bring somebody over, do something with them. I mean get them involved in something, but that's what Tony does. He would think just the name value would draw a house, and you know he'd do something with them on TV, that's not booking." [3:46-4:38]
Given how outspoken she has been regarding her future goals in the industry, it remains to be seen what will be next for CJ Perry in pro wrestling.
