Claudio Castagnoli confronts next AEW Continental Classic rival 

Claudio Castagnoli picked up a huge win on AEW Dynamite in his first 2024 Continental Classic bout. His next opponent in the prestigious tournament was revealed at the end of the episode.

The Swiss Cyborg took on Ricochet in their first singles match in the Tony Khan-led promotion in a Gold League bout for this year's C2 on the November 27 episode of Dynamite. Castagnoli defeated The Future of Flight with a lariat to register three points in the tournament in a successful start.

In the main event of the Wednesday night show, Darby Allin wrestled his long-time rival Brody King in the second Gold League match of the night. The former TNT Champion was in rough shape after his recent brutal battles with The Death Riders and was ultimately defeated by The House of Black member despite his best efforts.

After the match, Claudio Castagnoli arrived with a steel chair, seemingly to brutalize Allin in response to his attempted vehicular attack on The Death Riders at Full Gear 2024. However, King stood up for Allin and stared down the reigning AEW World Trios Champion, forcing the latter to back off. It was then announced that Brody would square off with Claudio next week.

Notably, Brody King and Claudio Castagnoli collided in the Blue League of last year's AEW Continental Classic. The King of Swing lost the bout in question, and it remains to be seen if he can defeat the 37-year-old star in their upcoming rematch.
