Condolences are going the way of the former WWE star, Maria Kanellis for her recent loss. She had been a part of AEW for the past few years.
Maria Kanellis is best known for her time in the WWE where she had two separate runs. After her second run, Maria was released from the Stamford-based promotion back in 2020. She later made her move to the AEW in 2022 but only as a valet and manager as she didn't wrestle even one match during her tenure.
Amid the rumors of her contract expiry, Maria Kanellis informed that her Grandpa Foster sadly passed away at the age of 87. Maria posted the following long message on X (fka Twitter) to let fans know about her loss:
"Yesterday, my Grandpa Foster passed away surrounded by family, at 87 years old. He was the hardest working person I have ever known. He survived polio and lived most of his life on crutches but never complained. He was tough but also would do whatever his family needed him to do."

Maria continued by stating how her Grandpa was a role model:
"He was always there for holidays, birthdays, supported all of the kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids endeavors or if a car needed towed no matter how much pain he was in. Love you Grandpa. You will be missed. Thank you for being such a great role model."
Maria Kanellis recently revealed her AEW contract expiry date
Last month, the former WWE star Maria Kanellis disclosed that her contract with AEW will be up on October 31st. In an Instagram video posted by Maria herself, she revealed the following:
"Also, my contract with AEW is coming up [on] October 31st. I’ve reached out to them to find out whether or not they are going to be signing me, but I haven’t really heard anything yet, so, of course, that is weighing on me as well."
Moreover, it is still not clear whether Kanellis has re-signed with Tony Khan's promotion or is currently a free agent.
