AEW fans recently celebrated the return of Sammy Guevara, who made his comeback from a suspension in Ring of Honor. The Spanish God has another major reason to celebrate today, as he has just issued a heartfelt statement.
Guevara began dating All Elite Wrestling's Tay Melo in January 2022. They were engaged to be married just a few months later while in Paris, and then tied the knot in August of that year. The All Elite Wrestling couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Luna, on November 28, 2023.
Today marks two years since Sammy Guevara and Melo officially said "I do!" to each other. The wedding ceremony was held on Saturday, August 7, 2022, in Orlando, Florida. Guevara took to X/Twitter to mark the occasion with a special message to his wife.
"Happy Anniversary! Two years ago, I married my best friend. You came into my life & made everything better. You are my greatest adventure. Thank you for giving us Luna and everything you do for our family. To infinity and beyond meu amor [red heart emoji]," Guevara wrote with a photo from their wedding ceremony.

Melo recently began training for her in-ring return. She has not wrestled for AEW since the Rampage taping on January 11, 2023, where she and Anna Jay were defeated by Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale in a Street Fight. The 29-year-old and Guevara wrestled again on March 11 at NEW WrestleFest, defeating Encore and Tiara James, but that was her final match before going on maternity leave.
Sammy Guevara returns to AEW TV
Sammy Guevara was suspended earlier this year for seemingly ignoring concussion protocols in his No DQ win over Jeff Hardy at the AEW Rampage tapings on February 14. His last match was a loss to Powerhouse Hobbs.
The Spanish God shocked fans when he returned at the recent ROH TV tapings, aligning himself with new World Six-Man Tag Team Champion Dustin Rhodes after saving the veteran from an attack by The Dark Order.
Guevara then returned to AEW TV on Saturday's Collision episode. He interrupted an interview with Rhodes and The Von Erichs, making it known that he wanted to earn their trust.
Guevara's return was surrounded by some controversy over how he reportedly turned down All Elite Wrestling's creative plans. At least one wrestling legend has spoken out against the former TNT Champion since the matter was disclosed.
