Shelton Benjamin recently looked back on his career after hitting a milestone of being in the industry for 25 years. Much of this was spent in WWE, and the rest in around other top promotions worldwide.
Shelton Benjamin has been a name in the business that has gained traction recently. After signing with the Jacksonville-based company in the latter part of 2024, his career has resurged, as there was a lull following his departure from WWE in 2023.
Taking to his Instagram, The Standard of Excellence created a slideshow of different moments in his career during his 25 years. This included his numerous title reigns, and partnerships with different wrestlers during that time. He then ended this by posting a picture of The Hurt Business, as they have now ventured to AEW, sans Cedric Alexander, as The Hurt Syndicate.
"25 years officially in the books. I have now been a professional wrestler for more than half my life. Put those fingers down now, we don’t need to do the math😠 still feels like I started yesterday. I wake up every day thankful for the time I’ve had and enthusiastically look forward to this continuing adventure as a professional wrestler. I am a long from being done Thank you for your support or thank you for your hate, it all fuels me. So what’s next? Well first order of business…..WE HURT PEOPLE," Benjamin wrote.

Shelton Benjamin says he was surprised by his reception in AEW
On the October 2 episode of AEW Dynamite, MVP shocked the world by revealing Shelton Benjamin as his business partner, hinting that he was bringing The Hurt Business to All Elite Wrestling.
Two weeks later, he made his in-ring debut against Lio Rush. This was a highly talked-about match, as many were surprised that despite a long tenure in the business, he looked to be in incredible form. The group then instantly became a hit within the company and among the fans.
During an interview with ITR Wrestling, Shelton Benjamin was surprised by how much the fans appreciated what he was doing. He talked about how, in his time with the Jacksonville-based company so far, he has had mostly great matches and amazing chemistry with a lot of the talent.
"My biggest surprise is that the fans really appreciate what I bring to the table. I found that I have a lot of great chemistry with the guys I’ve been working. I feel like I’ve been having nothing but just great matches with pretty much everyone I’ve been in the ring with," he said. [HT: ITR Wrestling]
In his time with the Jacksonville-based promotion so far, Shelton Benjamin has been built up as one of the brute forces on the roster. Despite taking some losses, he has still looked to be one of the more dominant faces in AEW, and he looks to have an interesting run heading into 2025.
Congratulations to Shelton Benjamin for completing 25 years in the wrestling industry from all of us at Sportskeeda Wrestling.
